My Walmart visit was interesting. I ate a $25 meal at the Olive Garden Sunday night when I arrived in Bentonville, AR (Walmart will reimburse the cost of the meal).

I did 2 - 1 hour interviews in the morning, then went to my benefits meeting. At the benefits meeting, I started to feel like vomiting. So I excused myself to the restroom. I didn't make the toilets, so I threw up my $25 meal in the sink. It kind of splashed up back onto my suit, shoes and tie, but I was able to clean most of it up. Thankfully, nobody was in the restroom. I then went and ate lunch with my recruiters. I had fresh pineapple, fresh strawberries and a water.  I went to my next hour interview, but after that, I had to make another visit to the restroom. My $4.13 lunch ended up in the toilet (better than the sink). I then went on my area tour. I was with 2 other Walmart candidates and the driver in a 15 passenger van. About an hour into my 2 hour tour, I started to feel bad again. (This is neat, but gross). I threw up (It was only water and some fruit pieces from lunch), but contained it all in my mouth and was able to swallow it so as to not make a scene. I didn't know it was possible to swallow my vomit because usually the gag reflex is still too strong.

Well, best as I can tell, it was food poisoning from dinner. It wasn't stress from the interviews. They were easy. I have done so many interviews now that I could do them in my sleep. I drank a 24oz vault soda to help keep me awake for my long (5 hour) drive home and kept that down just fine. I also kept dinner down fine last night.

I was nominated by a faculty member to be the commencement speaker for the college of business. I had to submit a proposed speech outline to compete with the other nominees. I found out yesterday that I was selected to speak. I don't know if that makes me the valedictorian, but it is an honor.

The interesting part about this is that I told the dean at the end of the last semester that I would be the commencement speaker in the spring. I'm not sure why. And I had no idea how to go about becoming the commencement speaker. Heh.

P.S. The interviews went really well. I should be getting a job offer from Walmart in the next week.
